간만에 푹 빠져서 볼 애니가 생긴것이야 ;ㅁ;

Overtime

Who Are You - Bill Cantos(1995)

딱 90년대 스타일

BILL CANTOS

Keyboardist, singer, songwriter, arranger, producer - Bill thrives on variety. Among his current projects, he plays and tours with music legends Herb Alpert and Lani Hall, who selected his "I Feel You" as the title song of their new CD; two of his songs also appear on their 2009 release, ANYTHING GOES.  He appears in Phil Collins' 2010 concert DVD GOING BACK and was a part of Phil's "First Final Farewell Tour" (2004-2005).  He's also toured and/or recorded with Alan Bergman, Burt Bacharach, Elton John & Leon Russell, Diane Schuur, Lisa Ono, Kirk Whalum, Bob Dylan, Brian Bromberg, Barry Manilow, Jay Graydon, David Foster, Kevyn Lettau, Deniece Williams, Debby Boone, Freddie Hubbard, Vikki Carr, Steve Amerson, Tony Guerrero, and Rita Coolidge, among many others.

His songs have been covered by Ramsey Lewis, Lea Salonga, Patti Austin, Brenda Russell, Janis Siegel and Cheryl Bentyne, to name a few. Bill has a deep love for Brazilian music, and has worked extensively with many of Brazil's best-known artists, including Sergio Mendes, Dori Caymmi, Flora Purim, Airto Moreira, and Gal Costa. Bill has released six solo CDs; the most recent is LOVE WINS: NEW STANDARDS FOR THE NEW MILLENIUM, a collection of new songs written in the style of classic jazz standards. He's currently putting the finishing touches on a new album, planned for a fall 2011 release.

Gospel music is also a passion for Bill; he leads worship, has written songs for Clay Crosse, Maranatha Music and Helen Baylor, performed for half a million people as musical director/keyboardist of the Promise Keepers worship band, and appears on CDs by Donnie McClurkin, Tommy Walker, and Andrae Crouch. For nine years he was heard on the "Haven" radio broadcast as a member of their vocal quartet.

Theater is another avenue for his talents; he appeared in the LA world premiere of Cy Coleman/Alan & Marilyn Bergman's musical, LIKE JAZZ, and has written an one-act musical, "The Little Room". He has performed on the soundtracks for dozens of films including Rio, Tangled, Mars Needs Moms, Iron Man 2, Spiderman 3, WALL-E, Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs, Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself & Polar Express.

Growing up in San Diego, California, Cantos received a Masters in Jazz Studies from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where he studied piano with Fred Hersch. He currently resides in Los Angeles working on new projects with his wife, Mari Falcone, including writing new songs with Alan & Marilyn Bergman and Johnny Mandel.

Who are you
Are you a flower that grows on the hillside
Catching my eye with a rainbow of color
Hopelessly lovely and wild as the moon
You smile and I wonder,

Who are you
Are you a statue inside a museum
Drawing me closer with eyes like the ages
Unable to love for you’re made out of stone
I look in your eyes and see nothing but mystery
There’s so many things I’ve been longing to ask you
Who are you
And what have you done with my heart

Who are you
Are you a season, a lifetime, an hour
Will you be here when the sky turns to winter
And if I should love you
Will you love me too
Who are you
Who are you

그리고.

"Rose, Rose, I Love You" is the standard English title of the 1940 Chinese popular song "Méigui méigui wǒ ài nǐ" (玫瑰玫瑰我愛你), first recorded by Yao Lee (姚莉). An English-language version whose lyrics have little in common with the original Mandarin was first recorded by Frankie Laine in 1951. It remains the only major popular music chart hit in the United States written by a Chinese composer.[citation needed]

The song is also known under the titles "Shanghai Rose" and "China Rose."

Méigui méigui wǒ ài nǐ

The original Chinese lyrics were by Wu Cun (Ng Chuen; 吳村 Wú Cūn) and the music was credited to Lin Mei (林枚), a pen name for popular song composer Chen Gexin (陳歌辛). The song was first recorded in 1940 by Yao Lee (姚莉) as an interlude for the movie Singing Girl and released as a single on Pathé Records (EMI) catalog number B. 597. Yao Lee's Mandarin version was also released in the US and UK in the early 1950's by Columbia Records, catalog numbers 39420 and 2837 respectively. Yao Lee was credited as "Miss Hue Lee" in this release. Other early releases have also credited her as "Yiu Lei."

Bobby Lyle

Bobby Lyle is a jazz, soul jazz, and smooth jazz pianist. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee but grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota in a home near the corner of Park Avenue and 32nd Street. His father, reportedly, was a sports writer for the Star Tribune newspaper.

He had his first gig at 16 and played in the 1960s with Gene and Jerry Hubbard in the Bobby Lyle Trio. They were very popular at the Blue Note on Plymouth Avenue on Minneapolis' North Side, and at the Ebony Lounge on University Avenue in St. Paul. When Ramsey Lewis left the Trio which he started and made famous, Lyle became the keyboard player for Young Holt Unlimited.

In 1970, he had a meeting and subsequent jam session with Jimi Hendrix who was planning on starting a jazz-rock group with Lyle and fellow Minnesotans Willie Weeks and Bill Lordan as the rhythm section before his death later that year.

He moved to Los Angeles in 1974 and soon went on the road with Sly and the Family Stone. During this time he also had a stint with the Ronnie Laws band. This led to a meeting with Wayne Henderson of the Jazz Crusaders who then took him to Capitol Records for his first solo recording deal in 1977. After three albums ("The Genie", "New Warrior", and "Night Fire"), Capitol abandoned their jazz division. Without a record deal, Lyle returned to his sideman work in 1981 with George Benson. In that same year he was a guest artist on the Yellowjackets debut LP.

Extensive tours with Bette Midler, Al Jarreau, and Anita Baker (all as musical director) occupied most of his time in the eighties. While performing with saxophonist Gerald Albright in 1987, Bobby came to the attention of Sylvia Rhone, then VP of Jazz and Urban music at Atlantic Records. This resulted in a recording deal in 1988 which spawned six albums in nine years. In the meantime, Lyle continued to tour with his own bands as well as with Bette Midler. He received an Emmy nomination for his musical direction on her HBO Special, "Diva Las Vegas" in 1997. He currently lives in Houston, Texas.
